hi guys, just wanna ask if anyone is interested in attending because llb and i are trying to get at least two tables of ahscds people. please get back to me on my cellphone if you are interested.
It is a nine course meal and there is a sort of a reception before the dinner starts proper. YuNeng is one of the three emcees. Ivan from EDC and JieYing from a junior batch would be the other two emcees. There will also be a photo exhibition of mount everest, the photographer is an alumni of ahs. We will also be doing a milestone activity as part of the programme.
The dinner is catered by the expo resident restaurant this time round, so it isn't the one we had during the 45th anniversary. The actual cost of the dinner per person from the restaurant is about $60 and the additional $20 goes into the location venue, door gifts, decorations, and part of the $20 goes into subsidising for the current juniors who will have to pay $50, like we were subsidised 4 years back in 2001. The people in charge of doing this dinner, like me and lls are volunteering for free. And there will be alot of other teachers, old and new, attending the dinner, so hope you guys can attend the dinner if you can afford the ticket. =)
So far from our batch, only jianfeng and me confirm going... but I will not have time to eat that day, because I am in charge of the evening's programme, so do come and show your support and accompany jfeng! haha.
Actually, my thoughts on this dinner is that is too expensive like what you guys feel too, but breaking down the price of the dinner does make it sound more reasonable. And I know we meet too often to want to pay this price to gather together. But I think that it would be memorable to be able to attend the school's 50th anniversary, because it is kind of grand and it is such an important day for the school. And it would be rather cool to be part of this event.

PS: I have seen samples of the door gifts and it is different worth keeping. And the decorations are coming rather nicely as well. The place will be carpeted and we hope to make it alot better than the one we had on the 45th. By the way, the dinner is still held in the expo because we are trying to reach 180 to 200 tables, so non of the hotels like fullerton or ritz actually have rooms to accomodate all of those tables.
